Spend a few moments with Jodie during her workday or at an American Society of Association Executives event and her passion is clear: associations. For more than 25 years she has dedicated her career to helping associations solve their most pressing challenges. Jodie has converted many of her colleagues and clients into personal friends. In fact, we have a joke around McKinley that all Jodie needs to do to make a new association friend is walk out the front door! This is a good thing for McKinley because Jodie is primarily focused on new business development. She also sets strategic vision for the firm and supports client engagements as needed.

Jodie founded McKinley in 1994 to bring a new, creative and informed approach to supporting associations. There is no “McKinley,” but Jodie liked the ring of it and the name stuck. Jodie’s business acumen, marketing expertise and leadership skills have positioned McKinley as a highly-respected consulting firm in the association world.

Outside of her work at McKinley, Jodie has been what we like to call a “loyal and active” member of ASAE. She has volunteered in some capacity at almost every level of the association and continues to be heavily involved as the Chair of the Fellows and a Director on the ASAE Business Services Board. Jodie is a frequent speaker and was recognized as a “best of” at the 2009 ASAE Annual Meeting. She also appears frequently in the AssociationsNow and was a contributing author of the book, Generating and Managing Non-dues Income in Associations. In August of 2011 Jodie received the highest honor bestowed on a non-association executive. She was named into ASAE’s Academy of Leaders for her commitment, contributions and leadership in the association community.

Jodie has a B.A. in English from Goucher College. Her non-association passions include supporting animal welfare causes, traveling the world and fixing up the 1890 carriage house in Washington, DC she shares with her husband, David and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Aidan, who can often be found asleep on the job and snoring in Jodie’s office.
