Danielle Mitchell, AIA

As a senior project associate, Danielle brings a design-thinking approach to the consulting team. In her role, she drives project management and execution to guarantee a seamless and rewarding client experience. Her time as the national president of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) prior to joining McKinley, equipped her with an inside understanding of the association industry and empowers her success working with our many multifaceted clients.

She credits her background in this area for helping her identify her interests outside of traditional architecture and strengthening her value of empathy and humility in the workplace — leading to a passion for mission-driven organizations. This introduction to the association world opened doors to volunteering, membership, and acting as a board chair to multiple other associations including the National Architecture Accrediting Board, Architects Foundation, and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

Before becoming a member of the McKinley team, Danielle also obtained her architect license and spent three years in Honolulu, Hawaii working on residential, commercial and education projects throughout the state. She has developed an iterative process for client-centered problem solving and excels at adapting to client needs.

Danielle has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Penn State University. She is a huge fan of exploring new places, whether it’s walking around a new city and immersing herself in various design and construction elements or going on a hike in a beautiful setting like the Na Pali Coast on the island of Kauai — one of her favorite places!
