Since 2015, Megan has helped association leaders across organizational size, type and sector develop viable, future-focused and innovative strategies to advance their mission. As a member of McKinley’s strategy consulting team, Megan manages a wide range of association initiatives, with a focus on strategic planning, facilitation, branding and communications, and organizational assessment projects.
Prior to joining McKinley in 2015, Megan worked as lead copywriter, communications liaison and messaging specialist at a rapidly growing D.C.-based market research firm. In this role, she served as the company’s unified voice and was responsible for translating research outcomes into a variety of mediums for both internal and external audiences. Additionally, Megan channeled her passion for helping non-profits succeed when working as a special events consultant in United Cerebral Palsy’s national office. Within this capacity, she organized an annual executive conference and acted as the U.S. coordinator for the global fundraising challenge, Steptember. Under her leadership in 2014, the event doubled its historical participation and fundraising levels.
A native of Mobile, Alabama (the real birthplace of Mardi Gras), Megan supplemented her SEC football chants with ACC basketball titles at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. At work, Megan frequently shares unsolicited fun facts from one of her many favorite podcasts, while in her spare time she dabbles in a number of hobbies – ranging from painting class to sand volleyball – and is on a constant hunt for outdoor adventures and, like any true Washingtonian, the next great brunch spot.
