Jessica Johnson, M.A.
As content specialist, Jessica develops compelling copy for McKinley’s multi-channel projects. Working closely with the marketing team, she plays an important role in advancing the goals and objectives of our clients through strategic communication and creative content.
Jessica has a background in communications and public relations for nonprofit and public interest groups. In her former roles, she amplified organizations’ voices by developing strong and meaningful messages, preparing spokespeople with talking points, and coordinating with media outlets at local, national and international levels. These experiences inspired her to see empathy as a strength and deepened her interest in using creative writing to make a positive impact in the world.
Jessica has a master’s in strategic communication from American University and a bachelor’s in journalism from Youngstown State. She enjoys reading, yoga, Fleetwood Mac, rambling about psychological and philosophical topics ad nauseam, and she hopes to one day master playing the piano beyond the C major scale. As a former Washingtonian, she can easily spend hours in a museum & as a rural Ohio native, she feels most at home outdoors. She currently lives in Chicago with her boyfriend and their Russian blue rescue, Cleo, and daydreams about one day having her own animal sanctuary.
