Jessica Johnson, M.A.
As a content specialist in the Chicago office, Jessica develops compelling copy for McKinley’s multi-channel projects. Working closely with the marketing team, she plays an important role in advancing the goals and objectives of our clients through strategic communication and creative content.
Jessica has a background in communications and public relations for nonprofit and public interest groups. In her former roles, she amplified organizations’ voices by developing strong and meaningful messages, preparing spokespeople with talking points, and coordinating with media outlets at local, national and international levels. These experiences inspired her to see empathy as a strength and deepened her interest in using creative storytelling and writing to make a positive impact in the world.
Jessica has a master’s degree in strategic communication from American University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Youngstown State University. She is an avid rock collector, plant enthusiast and Fleetwood Mac fan who hopes to one day extend her piano playing skills beyond the C Major scale. As a former Washingtonian, she can easily get lost in history and spend hours in a museum. As a rural Ohio native, she feels at home being outdoors and aspires to one day have her own animal sanctuary.
