Jessica Johnson, MA
As marketing writer, Jessica develops and edits creative, compelling copy for McKinley’s multi-channel projects that include email, social media, digital ads, blogs, print ads, direct mail, web copy and more. Working closely with the rest of the marketing team, she plays an important role in supporting our association clients by helping to create innovative solutions to advance their goals and objectives.
Jessica comes from a background in writing and editing, public relations and consulting for both nonprofit and public interest groups. She previously worked closely with media outlets at local, national and international levels to ensure organizations’ voices were amplified when it came to relevant issues; prepared spokespeople for media interviews and press conferences; coordinated sponsorship and fundraising by planning several large and small scale events; and has helped reach targeted audiences with strong and meaningful messages through writing and editing speeches, statements, media advisories, talking points and opinion pieces for a diverse array of clients and individuals.
Jessica has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Youngstown State University and a master’s degree in strategic communications from American University. Being a Northeast Ohio native, she is a passionate Cleveland Cavs fan. She loves animals and aspires to one day have her own animal sanctuary. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts, playing with her nieces, traveling to new places, eating tacos and reading.
